FORT SMITH– Cold temperatures, dangerous wind chill potential, and the potential for winter weather all stand as possibilities for the Eastern Oklahoma as well as Northwest and West Central Arkansas over the next few days according to a Hazardous Weather Outlook by the National Weather Service.

West to northwesterly winds gusting 15 to 30 mph are expected to continue into the evening hours before weakening overnight.

These winds combined with clearing skies and cold temperatures create the potential for wind chill values to fall into the single digits for a large portion of Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas by early Friday morning.

Temperatures are expected to fall into the teens by Friday.
