FORT SMITH – CASA of Sebastian County is looking for a new leader to guide the organization into its’ next season. The group began posting help wanted advertisements this week seeking to fill the position of Executive Director.
CASA is a program where trained court appointed volunteers represent the best interest of an abused or neglected child for whom a placement is being determined by the juvenile court. A CASA volunteer acts as a fact finder of the child’s best interest, providing a judge with valuable information on the child to help the court make a sound decision about the child’s future.
The job description is as follows:
CASA of Sebastian County, a 501C-3 Non-Profit Corporation, is seeking to hire an Executive Director(ED). This will be a full time position reporting to a Board of Directors and is based in Fort Smith, AR.
The ED is charged with the responsibility of implementing the overall mission and policies of the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Program.
These responsibilities include:
Grant writing and management of these grants
Volunteer Recruitment, Training, Supervision and Support
Strategic and Budget Planning
Management of Ethical and Legal Standards and Certifications
Work Effectively with Child Welfare System
Provide public presentations to civic, social, religious and educational groups
Community Relations and Reputation Management
A Bachelor’s degree in social services OR a minimum of five years management experience OR two years’ experience working for a nonprofit organization
Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal
Fundraising and some knowledge of grant writing as well as managing these grants
CASA of Sebastian County feels like we need an ED that has the willingness to adopt a “servant-leader” management style
Experience working with diverse communities
Computer Skills including major Microsoft Office Applications, Database Management, QuickBooks, and overall ability to manage accounting software, social media and web presence
