Lois Ann Thompson, 71, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in a local hospital. She was born on November 7, 1947 in Phoenix, Arizona to Cecil and Joy (Kitchens) Whisenhunt. She was a retired Lab Technician from Tyson Foods. Lois volunteered during the holidays serving hot chocolate at the Creekmore Park tree lighting and ringing the bell for donations to the Kiwanis Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister and was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral service is 11:00am, Friday, December 7, 2018 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial to follow in Oak Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bill Thompson of the home; two daughters, Michelle Roy and Billie Thompson both of Fort Smith; one son, Douglas Thompson of Chester, AR; a sister, Sandra Jordan of Moore, OK; two brothers, Tony Whisenhunt of Wilburton, OK and Forrest Whisenhunt of Checotah, OK; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Nick Hannaman, Vendle Johnson, Kenneth Shelby and Randy Roy.
The family will visit with friends from 5-7pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
