LITTLE ROCK – Two Fort Smith market television stations have named in a lawsuit by an Arkansas Supreme Court justice, who aims to stop them from running advertisements that make what she calls false allegations against her.
Justice Courtney Goodson filed a lawsuit naming the parent companies of KFSM Television, KNWA Television, and Fox 24 in the Fort Smith/Fayetteville market, along with Little Rock stations KARK, KTHV, and KATV in hopes that they would cease the current ad campaign purchased by the Judicial Crisis Network.
In the ads, she is accused of taking high priced gifts from trial attorneys, and requesting an $18,000 a year pay raise – allegations that she says are not true.
Goodson faces Judge Kenneth Hixson, and attorney David Sterling in the three-way race for her seat.
One Little Rock station, KATV, has already suspended the advertising campaign.
