FORT SMITH – The Fort Smith Public Schools announced this week they would cut back their summer work weeks to try to conserve energy.
“As a strategy to reduce energy costs, the district is piloting an extended day, four-day work week this summer from June 10 – June 28. Hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday – Thursday,” the District said. “Lunch times are reduced to thirty (30) minutes and will be staggered so that offices remain open.”
The district will be closed on Friday, June 14, 21 and 28.
