Former 40/29 sports anchor John Laws will be making a return to the station’s airwaves soon, but in a way that a year ago, he probably didn’t even dream was possible.
He left the KHBS/KHOG team a few years ago to join Tulsa’s Channel 8, and then tendered his resignation earlier this year to pursue other interests. But it wasn’t until Monday night that we found out exactly what those other interests would be.
Here is the preview of the show as described by Deadline.Com.
“Hosted by former NFL quarterback and Season 5 Bachelor Jesse Palmer, each hourlong episode will feature 10 eligible daters competing in four pageant-style rounds to win the heart of a mystery suitor or ‘suitress,’ whose identity is concealed from them.
Each episode will follow the male or female daters as they attempt to woo the mystery suitor with their words in first impressions and beachwear rounds; answer the mystery suitor’s most pressing romantic questions; and strive to receive a seal of approval from the mystery suitor’s most trusted family member in the final round.”
Laws chatted briefly with InsideFortSmith.Com briefly on Monday night, and wanted to say this to the viewers at home who may have seen the show’s initial episode which aired earlier in the evening with a group of female contestants.
“We were a VERY entertaining group. WAYYY better than the premiere,” Laws noted. “We should’ve been first.”
He says that the show lives up to the description given by E! Online as basically The Bachelor on steroids.
“They wanted it to be over the top.” Laws has determined. “That’s what summer programming is for really.”
