FORT SMITH – The City of Fort Smith Department of Community Development is accepting applications for Year 45 Community Development Block Grant Funds (CDBG) ($844,000*) and for Year 26 HOME Investment Partnership Act Funds ($433,500*) from Wednesday, January 2, 2019, through 12:00 a.m. (midnight), Monday, February 4, 2019.Application periodJanuary 2 – February 4, 2019Of these amounts, approximately $333,200 in CDBG funds, $65,025 in HOME CHDO funds, and $325,125 in HOME funds will be available to outside agencies to assist the City in meeting the strategies of the 2019 Program Year.The CDBG and HOME grants programs use an online grants application management software named ZoomGrants™.

The Fort Smith Board of Directors will hold a study session Tuesday, March 26 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) in the Community Room of the Main Library, 3201 Rogers Avenue.
A Final Public Hearing will be held Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Fort Smith School Service Center, 3205 Jenny Lind, Building “B.”The purpose of these public hearings is to receive input on proposed funding requests, CDAC recommendations, and CDBG/HOME program performance. * Amounts are estimated. The federal government has not yet approved a federal Fiscal Year 2019 budget. Final allocation amounts may not be available until May–June 2019. Once the City is notified of official program funding totals, all proposed activities budgets will be proportionally increased or decreased from these estimated funding levels to match actual allocation amounts.
