FAYETTEVILLE – Former Arkansas Razorback quarterback and current Van Buren Pointer Head Coach Casey Dick has been hired in the same position at Fayetteville High School according to a district news release.
Dick, who had one season as the head coach of the Pointers will replace Billy Dawson, who is leaving coaching to move to the private business sector.
In his lone season at Van Buren, Dick lead the Pointers to the playoffs for the first time since 2011. They ended the season at 4-8 last year, after having a winless season the year before.
We are happy to welcome Coach Dick home to Fayetteville, this time as our head football coach,” Superintendent Dr. John L Colbert said Wednesday. “We are confident we have selected the right man to lead our football program to even more success for many years to come.”
Dick was the starting quarterback under Razorback Coaches Houston Nutt and Bobby Petrino from 2005 to 2008.
