FORT SMITH – One of the area’s longtime employers is hosting an event to pay tribute to manufacturing efforts accross the country.
To celebrate Manufacturing Week, ABB (formerly Baldor Electric) will host a “Community Open House” on Wednesday, October 3 beginning at 4:30.
“There will be multiple tour opportunties available. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the plant, visit with staff and meet a number vendors,” the company said in a release. “This will be an excellent opportunity to learn what manufacturing looks like in the 21st century! Manufacturing Week is in its 6th year and highlights opportunities in the industry and its growing need for skilled employees.”
Here are a few things the company says are important details about the event:
* Shotgun tours offered throughout the event
* To participate in the tour, must be at least in the 5th grade
* Closed toe shoes are required
“Food and refreshments will be provided!” the company said. “Bring your entire family for a fun evening of networking while learning more about today’s manufacturing environment!”
